Accused metalmark

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with an orange apical band on the forewings. The forewings also have a few large yellow markings below the costal margin, on the inner side of the orange apical band. These markings stop at the postbasal region which, along with the basal region, has a bluish tint with red markings. The entire forewings of males have a bluish tint, excepting the margins, and there no red basal and postbasal markings. Additionally, males do not have an orange apical band on the forewings. However, males have a broad orange horizontal band along the costa on the hindwings. The underside of the wings is dark brown with yellow markings in females and whitish to pale yellow markings in males. The markings on the upperside of the forewings appear in a similar pattern on the underside. The hindwings have a checkered pattern on the underside, unlike on the upperside.
