Identification: This species is sexually dimorphic. Males are dark brown with a large central white patch on the forewings and broad whitish markings around the veins on the underside of the hindwings. The hindwings also have orange basal markings on the underside. Females are dark brown with an orange patch that occupies much of the basal, postbasal and discal regions. The forewings have a white subapical band. The hindwings have whitish triangular submarginal markings on the underside at the termen.
