Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with an orange central oblique band on the forewings and and orange submarginal band on the hindwings. The hindwings are scalloped at the termen and have a stub-like projection around mid-termen. The region on the inner side of the bands is dotted with light brown spots that are more visible on the underside.

Variation: There is variation in the width of the orange band.
