Identification: This species is sexually dimorphic. Males are dark brown with a broad red discal band on the hindwings and a red patch at the dorsum on the forewings (in line with the band on the hindwings). The body also has a red band in line with the band on the hindwings. These red markings do not appear on the underside. Females are dark brown with an orangish central band on the forewings, which appears on the underside.
