Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with black markings, giving a speckled appearance. The underside of the wings may have a bit of a purplish-grey tint at the basal and postbasal regions of the forewings and on all of the hindwings.

Variation: There is variation in the amount of purplish-grey on the underside of the wings.
