Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside, with a large central red patch on the forewings and a small patch near the tornus on the hindwings. The underside of the wings is also dark brown with two white bands between the outer postdiscal and submarginal regions. The outer band appears wavy on the hindwings. Both fore- and hindwings have a yellow marginal band (thicker on the hindwings) on the outer side of the outer white band, running from mid-termen to  tornus.
