Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside, with two red bands radiating from the base to the termenal margin of the hindwings in males. Females have an orange patch, instead, at and around the tornus of the hindwings. The underside of the wings in both males and females is light brown with a central orange band (with brown outline) running from costa to dorsum. There is a second band on the outer side of the central band, which is brown in colour. The hindwings have white-crowned black submarginal lunules and an orange band on the outer side of the lunules, which is brighter at the tornus.
