Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with an iridescent purple tint below the costa of the hindwings. The underside of the wings is orangish-brown (greyish-brown from mid to dorsum on the forewings), with a central orange band running from costa to dorsum on both fore- and hindwings. The hindwings have orange-crowned and white-based black markings on the underside in the outer postdiscal and subapical regions, with the central marking being distinctively larger than the others and appearing like an ocellus.
