Regal Anteros

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with an iridescent blue tint from mid to dorsum on the forewings and on all of the hindwings excepting the margins and submargins. The forewings have two central white markings, just above the iridescent blue-tinted region. The hindwings have a stub-like projection at the tornus. The iridescent blue tint is brighter in males. The underside of the wings is a blotchy light brown and dark brown mix, with white and iridescent light blue markings. Both fore- and hindwings have a submarginal light brown and iridescent light blue band at the termen. The body is covered by iridescent blue hairs on the upperside and pinkish-red hairs on the underside.
