Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with yellow markings. Both fore- and hindwings are yellow from mid to base (excepting the margins and submargins) with large dark brown spots. The remainder of the forewings is dark brown with horizontal yellow lines, while the hindwings have a central oblique dark brown band on the outer side of the yellow inner region, followed by a yellow band, then another dark brown band. Outside of these bands are a row of large submarginal black ocelli, each with a yellow outline. The yellow markings all appear thicker on the underside and the dark brown spots appear smaller, giving an overall appearance of more yellow than on the upperside.
