Emerald-patched cattleheart

Identification: This species is sexually dimorphic. Males are dark brown with a central green patch from mid to dorsum on the forewings and white dorsum on the hindwings. The green patch on the forewings is not visible on the underside, and the hindwings have three red markings above the tornus on the underside. Females are dark brown with a central white patch on the forewings and red outer postdiscal markings on the hindwings. The hindwings in both males and females are scalloped at the termen, with white fringe.
