Itys leafwing

Wing span:

Identification: The forewings are orange on the upperside from the inner discal region to base, with two central white spots at the transition to the whitish-orange outer discal to outer postdiscal regions. The apex, subapex and termenal margins and submargins of the forewings are dark brown on the upperside. The hindwings are orange on the upperside with a faint central whitish band (in line with the whitish-orange band of the forewings) and tail-like projection at the tornus. The underside of the wings is brown with the central whitish-orange band being visible. The wings look like two dried leaves, and the hindwings have a central dark brown line on the underside similar to the midrib of a leaf.
