Wing span:

Identification: The forewings are marbled orange and dark brown from mid to dorsum, dark brown from mid to costa on the upperside, and marbled brown and white from mid to costa on the underside. The forewings also have three white apical spots, four white subapical spots, and a white band consisting of three white markings on the inner side of the subapical spots. The upperside of the hindwings is dark brown from mid to base and orange from mid to submargin. The hindwings have five dark brown spots in the outer postdiscal and subapical regions, followed by five dark brown submarginal markings. Both fore- and hindwings have orange marginal spots on the upperside. The underside of the hindwings is marbled brown and white, with the five dark brown spots in the outer postdiscal and subapical regions appearing as dark brown ocelli. Each ocellus has an iridescent blue pupil, some appearing larger than others and even occupying most of the ocellus. Each ocellus has a yellow outline followed by a dark brown outline, except for the ocellus closest to the apex which has a whitish outline. The hindwings have a thin iridescent blue submarginal band followed by a thin white band on the underside. Two of the subapical white spots on the forewings appear as white ocelli on the underside, each with partial dark brown and yellow outline.
