Identification: This species is sexually dimorphic, with leaf-like wings. Males are dark brown on the upperside with red basal and postbasal regions and a red central band on the forewings. The hindwings have a red spot below the costa. The head and upper thorax are also red in males, while the rest of the body is dark brown. Females are dark brown on the upperside with orange from the base to the outer postdiscal region of the forewings (except at the outer part of the dorsum, which is dark brown). The hindwings have an orange spot below the costa. The head, thorax and upper abdomen are also orange in females, while the lower abdomen is dark brown. The hindwings in both males and females have four white tornal markings on the upperside. The underside of the wings is a blotchy brown and appears like two dried leaves. The orange region on the forewings of females appears yellowish on the underside.
