Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a central red band on the forewings and a blue centre on the hindwings. Additionally, the inner side of the red band on the forewings is blue all the way to the base. The outer side of the red band of the forewings has a thin blue band. The red band on the upperside of the forewings is visible on the brown underside as an orange band, which goes inwards to the base just below the costa. There are two distinct black spots on this additional inward region of the central band. The blue areas on the upperside of the forewings appear dark brown on the underside. There are three short black lines along the costal margin that extend downwards. The hindwings are brown on the underside with yellow and black markings. The outer postdiscal and submarginal regions have seven black ocelli, each with a white pupil and broad yellow outline. The ocellus closest to the tornus is bipupilled. On the inner side of the series of ocelli are four broken black bands. The base of the hindwings has a bit of orange.
