Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with red from the base to the postdiscal region of the forewings. Additionally, the forewings have a yellow subapical band and iridescent blue between the yellow subapical band and red area. The hindwings have an iridescent blue central patch. The red region on the upperside of the forewings is visible on the dark brown underside, with the subapical band appearing whitish and no iridescent blue region. The hindwings are dark brown on the underside with yellow and white markings. The outer postdiscal and submarginal regions have seven ocelli, each with a white pupil, blue iris and yellow outline. The ocellus closest to the tornus is bipupilled. On the inner side of the series of ocelli is a thin white band, followed by a yellow circle that touches the base. There are whitish markings inside of the circle.
