Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with an iridescent greyish-blue tint from mid to base, excepting a dark brown area at and below the costa of the forewings (there is a yellowish marking at the costa that coincides with the end of this dark brown area). The wings have orangish spots in the submarginal and outer postdiscal regions. The underside of the wings is a blotchy brown with alternating dark brown and yellow marginal lines and faint greyish-white submarginal markings. The forewings have three black ocelli, each with a white pupil and a yellowish-brown outline followed by a thick dark brown then greyish-white outlines. The hindwings have four black ocelli, each with a white pupil and a yellowish-brown outline followed by thin dark brown then greyish-white outlines. One of the ocelli on the hindwings occurs close to the costa, while the remaining three occur from mid to dorsum in a row.
