Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a light iridescent blue tint (dull and less extensive in females), except at the costa, apex and termenal margin of the forewings and the dorsum and termenal margin of the hindwings. The forewings and hindwings each have two white markings at the costa and tornus, respectively. The underside of the wings is brown with a white submarginal band. The wings are a darker shade of brown from mid to base, with short vertical white strips. The forewings have three black ocelli outside of the dark brown region, each with a white pupil and a yellow outline followed by a thin dark brown outline (the upper two ocelli have an additional thicker white outline outside of the dark brown outline). The hindwings have three black ocelli occurring at the margin of the dark brown region, each with a white pupil and a yellow outline followed by a thin dark brown outline. The tornal ocellus is smaller than the other two.
