Pale-spotted leafwing

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are leaf-like and dark brown on the upperside, with an iridescent bluish-green tint from mid to base in females and on most of the wings in males. The forewings have five white spots. The hindwings have a tail-like projection just below mid-termen and tiny white-crowned black tornal ocelli. The underside of the wings has a blotchy greyish-brown appearance (more blotchy in males), and resembles dried foliage. The body is dark brown on the upperside and brown on the underside. 

Variation: There is variation in the number of tornal ocelli.
