Orange-striped leafwing
Wing span:
Identification: The wings are leaf-like and dark brown on the upperside, with an iridescent blue tint on most of the wings in males. Females have no iridescent blue; instead, they have a broad yellow central band on the forewings and yellowish-brown submargins on the hindwings. The hindwings have a tail-like projection just below mid-termen and tiny white-crowned black tornal ocelli. The underside of the wings in both males and females has a blotchy greyish-brown appearance, and resembles dried foliage. The body is iridescent blue on the upperside in males and brown in females; both males and females are brown on the underside.
