Many-banded daggerwing

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with orangish-brown vertical stripes. The forewings have six subapical white spots, arranged in two sets of three. The hindwings have two tail-like projections at the tornus, one shorter than the other and red in colour. Additionally, the hindwings have three black tornal ocelli, each with an orangish-brown outline. The dorsum of the hindwings is white at the margin. The underside of the wings is white from mid to base and dark brown for the rest of the wings. The white region of the wings has two bluish-brown vertical bands, each with a dark brown outline. The dark brown region has faint bluish-white vertical bands. The subapical spots on the upperside of the forewings and tornal ocelli on the upperside of the hindwings are visible on the underside. The body is dark brown on the upperside and white on the underside.
