Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a bluish tint at the margins and a bright yellow costa and cell below the costa on the hindwings. The underside of the wings is alternating dark brown and mauve. The forewings have a black subapical ocellus with two white pupils and a yellow outline. Its outline goes on to partially enclose a small bluish marking below it. The hindwings have three black ocelli, two at the subapex and one near the tornus, each with two white pupils and a yellow outline. There are two elongated oval silverish-mauve markings in between the subapical and tornal ocelli, each with a orangish-yellow outline.
