Silver-studded leafwing
Wing span:
Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside, with a central creamish-yellow band and two subapical creamish-yellow spots on the forewings. The hindwings are a lighter shade of brown from mid to cell above the dorsum, and have some creamish-yellow markings at the apex and a tail-like projection just below the mid-termen region. The underside of the wings also has similar brown colouration as the upperside, but appears blotchy and like dried foliage. The central creamish-yellow band of the forewings is visible on the underside. The wings have creamish-yellow spots in the basal and postbasal regions.
Variation: There is variation in the number of subapical spots on the forewings.
