Wing span:

Identification: The wings and body are black on the upperside and speckled with iridescent blue spots. The hindwings have faint ocelli (each with an iridescent blue pupil and broken outline). Females have a central white oblique band on the forewings. The wings are dark brown on the underside with a few red patches at the base and from mid-termen to tornus of the hindwings. The white band on the upperside of the forewings in females is visible on the underside.
