Starry cracker

Wing span:

Identification: The wings and body are black on the upperside and speckled with iridescent blue spots. Females have a central white oblique band on the forewings and patches of red along the costa of the hindwings. The wings are dark brown on the underside with a few red patches at the base, along the dorsum and up to mid-termen of the hindwings. Females have a red spot near the apex of the hindwings in addition to the other red markings, and the white band on the upperside of the forewings is visible on the underside.
