Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with an iridescent purple tint from the outer postdiscal region to the base of the forewings. The underside of the wings is brown, with the forewings having a dark brown centre, two faint whitish spots in the dark brown centre, four dark brown apical markings, and mauve-tinted apex and subapex. The hindwings have a mauve tint and a postdiscal band (with a dark brown wavy outline) containing a double black ocellus with whitish pupil near the apex and two smaller ocelli near the tornus. The ocellus closest to the tornus is also black with whitish pupil, while the other is faintly pupilled. All three ocelli have a dark brown outline. The hindwings have three dark brown postbasal and discal markings. The body is dark brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside.
