Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with an iridescent purple tint from the outer postdiscal region to base of the forewings, and from mid to base of the hindwings (excepting the costa, dorsum and cell above the dorsum). The underside of the wings has a blotchy appearance with a mix of dark brown, light brown, white and mauve. The dorsum, cell above the dorsum, costa and the base of the forewings are light brown, while the postbasal to outer postdiscal regions are dark brown with four distinct white spots and two faint whitish spots. The apex and subapex are whitish with a mauve tint, four dark brown apical markings and two subapical ocelli (each being dark brown with a yellowish-brown outline). The underside of the hindwings is brown with a mauve tint and dark brown markings. The hindwings have a postdiscal band (outlined by dark brown wavy lines) with two double black ocelli - each with a whitish pupil, yellowish-brown iris and dark brown outline. The postbasal and discal regions have four dark brown markings. There is also a little bit of white at the costa. The body is dark brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside.
