Tiger-striped leafwing

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with oblique orange bands. The forewings have two bands, one from the basal to outer postdiscal region of the dorsum and the other in the outer postdiscal region. There are also two subapical orange spots on the forewings. The hindwings have an orange band running below the costa, from the basal to submarginal region. There are some orange spots at the costa, apex and termen to tornus of the hindwings. The hindwings also have a mid-termen tail. The underside of the wings has a blotchy brown appearance (like that of dried foliage), with the forewings appearing lighter brown than the hindwings.
