Blue-frosted banner

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with two large orange spots on the forewings, one occurring centrally and the other near the apex. The hindwings have a large orange spot occurring in the postbasal region. There is a bluish tint at the apex and subapex of the hindwings, as well as along the tornus. The underside of the wings has a blotchy appearance from the outer postdiscal region to the termen. The forewings are yellow from mid to base, and bordered at the outer postdiscal region by a blackish band. The apex and subapex of the forewings is light brown with tints of purple and blue. The hindwings are light brown from mid to base and at the apex and subapex. The remaining areas are dark brown with tints of purple. The hindwings also have two small black postbasal spots. The body is dark brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside.
