Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with orange markings. The forewings are orange from the basal to the outer postdiscal regions, and there is also a subapical orange band. The hindwings are orange at the base and have light iridescent blue markings at the submargin near the tornus. The orange markings on the upperside of the forewings are also present on the underside. The underside of the wings is dark brown. The forewings have a light iridescent blue submargin from the apex to about midway of the termen. The hindwings have an orange line at the submargin running from the apex to the end of the termen. There is also an orange line running from the base of the costa to the dorsum, and almost joins the termenal submargin line. A broken light iridescent blue line runs from the space (at the dorsum) between the two orange lines to the costa, on the inner side of the termenal submargin line. Between the broken light iridescent blue line and the inner orange line, there is a horizontal orange marking with one spot above it and two below it (both light iridescent blue in colour). The orange marking and spots are outlined by an orange irregular circle, and together look like the number eight. The top of the "number eight" is joined with the beginning of the inner orange line that runs from the base of the costa to the dorsum. The body is dark brown and has yellowish markings on the underside, especially on the abdomen.
