Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with two yellow wavy lines on the submarginal, postdiscal, apical and subapical regions of the forewings. There are also two small white apical markings, which places them on the inner side of the outer line. The inner side of the inner line has an iridescent blue tint all the way to the base, excepting a small section at the upper postdiscal region. The hindwings also have an iridescent blue tint from the base to the postdiscal region, in line with the demarcation of the blue tint on the forewings. The underside of the wings is a marbled dark brown, light brown and black. The forewings have a subapical black ocellus with a small white spot and a yellowish-brown outline. The hindwings have two ocelli, one located at the postbasal region and one located almost centrally. The postbasal ocellus is brown and has a small yellowish partial crescent and a black outline. The other larger ocellus is black and has a faint white crescent and a yellowish outline, followed by dark brown then black outlines.

Variation: There is variation in the amount of iridescent blue tint on the upperside of the wings, with some specimens having a faint iridescent blue tint from the base to the postbasal region of the hindwings, and the inner side of the inner line on the forewings having a yellowish tint all the way to the base (instead of an iridescent blue tint).
