Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a faint whitish tint, a white submarginal line, and white fringe. The hindwings have a dark brown spot near the tornus and an additional thin, white submarginal band. The underside of the wings is alternating dark brown and white, appearing zebra-like. The forewings have a black subapical ocellus with whitish outline. The hindwings have three black ocelli in the outer postdiscal region, the one closest to the apex being unipupilled and the other two being bipupilled. The pupil in the unipupilled ocellus is greyish-purple, while the pupils in the bipupilled ocelli are white. Each ocellus has a yellow outline followed by a thinner dark brown outline. Two of the ocelli occur close together at the apex (one unipupilled and one bipupilled) and one occurs close to the tornus. There are two oval-shaped greyish-purple markings in the space between the ocelli.
