Red rim
Wing span:
Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a distinct red marginal band on the hindwings. The termenal margin of the forewings is a lighter shade of the brown, as well as the costa and dorsum of the hindwings. The underside of the wings is brown, with yellowish-brown dorsum and two faint black spots above the dorsum on the forewings. The hindwings have a few red spots at the base, and the red marginal band on the upperside is also visible (although paler) on the underside.
Variation: There is variation in the width of the red marginal band of the hindwings.
