One-spotted Prepona

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a central iridescent greenish-blue band running from mid to dorsum on the forewings, and from below the costa to tornus on the hindwings. The forewings also have an iridescent greenish-blue marking below the costa, in line with the central band. The hindwings have a whitish-brown patch at the costa and whitish-brown dorsum. The underside of the wings is a blotchy brown, with different shades of brown outlined by black. The hindwings have six small brown submarginal spots running from the apex to tornus. The body is dark brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside, and the proboscis is red.
