Banded tigerwing

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with a horizontal yellow band running from the base to the outer postdiscal region on the forewings and from lower base/upper dorsum to apex on the hindwings. Additionally, the forewings have a subapical yellow band. The wings have submarginal white spots on the underside. There is a bit of red at the tornus on the underside of the hindwings, above the submarginal spots. The hindwings also have a bit of yellow at the base on the underside. The base of the head and upper thorax are red on the upperside, and the abdomen is yellow on the underside.
