Cydrara hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside, with a white dorsal margin on the hindwings. Males are iridescent blue from mid to dorsum on the forewings and from mid to the cell above the dorsum on the hindwings. There are two tail-like projections on the hindwings. The underside of the wings is white with dark brown markings and brown submarginal lunules. The forewings have a triangular dark brown patch at the costa and the hindwings have a smaller triangular dark brown patch at the base. The hindwings also have a wavy dark brown postdiscal line and some dark brown spots on the inner side, as well as a white-crowned black tornal ocellus. The body is dark brown on the upperside and white on the underside.
