Gargara hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are iridescent blue on the upperside with dark brown margins and submargins, except for the dorsal margin of the forewings which is iridescent blue. The forewings have a dark brown spot below the costa. There are two tail-like projections on the hindwings, one stub-like and one hair-like. There is also white cilia at the tornus of the hindwings. The underside of the wings is light brown with faint brown and white submarginal lunules, and a central dark brown and white line running vertically from mid to costa on the forewings and costa to dorsum on the hindwings (line is more wavy on the hindwings). The dorsum region of the forewings is whitish on the underside. The hindwings have two orange-crowned black tornal ocelli.
