Tailless scrub-hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with white fringe. The forewings have a faint black spot below the costa and the hindwings have a black tornal ocellus (with iridescent blue outline in females). Females have an iridescent purple tint from mid to dorsum on the upperside of the hindwings and faint tornal lunules. The underside of the forewings is brown with light brown dorsum and a blotchy white and brown submargin (pattern tapers moving from apex to dorsum). The underside of the hindwings has a blotchy brown and white appearance.
