Gargophia hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The body and wings are dark brown on the upperside, with an iridescent purplish-blue tint except from mid to costa of the forewings and at margins and submargins of the hindwings. The tornus of the hindwings has a small orangish spot, and two-tail like projections adjacent to it (one hair-like and one a short stub). The forewings have two spots on the upperside near the costa of a slightly lighter shade of brown. The underside of the body and wings is light brown. The wings have a brown and light brown line running vertically from costa (goes all the way to dorsum on hindwings). This line has an additional orange line on the inner side (no space between the two) on the hindwings. The hindwings have two orange-crowned black tornal ocelli. There are also faint submarginal brownish lunules on the underside of the hindwings.
