Falerina hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with thin white fringe and bright iridescent blue tint except along the costa, apex, subapex, margin and submargin of the termen. The dorsum of the hindwings also does not have the iridescent blue tint. The hindwings have two tail-like projections near the tornus. The upperside of the hindwings also has an orangish patch at the costa near the base. The underside of the wings is white with the forewings having a faint brown and white postdiscal line, and the hindwings have two wavy brown and white postdiscal lines (all running vertically from the costa). The hindwings have two orange-crowned black tornal ocelli. The body is dark brown on the upperside and white on the underside.
