Dolylas hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown and iridescent blue (deeper in males than in females) on the upperside. The forewings are iridescent blue from the postbasal to basal region while the hindwings are iridescent blue all over except along the margin and submargin. The forewings have a central spot with blackened veins. The underside of the wings is brown with broad light brown bands. The underside of the hindwings has an orangish-brown tornal ocellus. The hindwings also have a tail-like, hair-like projection near the tornus.
