Strophius hairstreak

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside, with mid to dorsum being iridescent blue (deeper in males than in females). There is a tail-like, hair-like projection near the tornus of the hindwings. The underside of the wings is light brown with a faint brown outer postdiscal line on the forewings, and two (one faint brown and one brown and white) postdiscal lines on the hindwings. There are three tornal spots on the hindwings, two orange-crowned and one light iridescent blue. The body is dark brown with iridescent blue tint on the upperside and light brown on the underside.
