Identification: This species is sexually dimorphic. Males have dark brown wings with a central oblique orange band on the forewings along with a subapical band consisting of six yellow spots, and a yellow spot between (and touching) the two bands. Females have dark brown forewings with four white spots and a subapical band consisting of six white spots. There is also an orange patch at the base of the forewings, which appears lighter on the underside. Hindwings are white with broad dark brown margins all around, except the dorsum on the upperside, and the dorsum and costa on the underside.
