Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with dark brown fringe. The forewings have a yellow patch just below the apex, at the beginning of the termenal margin. The subapex of the forewings also has a faint yellow patch. The upperside of the forewings has more faint yellow markings; there is a yellow band near the subapical yellow patch and a faint yellow band that seems to continue from the subapical patch downwards to the cell above the dorsum. There is an even fainter yellow band parallel to and on the outer side of the central band. There is also a faint yellow patch in the discal region on the upperside of the forewings. The hindwings have several faint yellow spots on the upperside. The markings on the upperside of the fore- and hindwings appear on the underside in a slightly lighter shade of brown. The upperside of the wings also have a deep blue iridescent tint.

Variation: There is variation in the amount of iridescent blue tint on the upperside of the wings.
