Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown with brown fringe. All of the forewings, except the edges, and base of the hindwings have a purplish-grey tint on the upperside. The forewings have an orange discal patch near the costa and an orange postdiscal patch near the dorsum. The hindwings have an orange submarginal band along the termen that ends at the dorsum. In females, this band is yellowish, considerably broader and extends inwardly all the way to the centre of the hindwings. Females also have an additional yellow segment attached to the orange discal patch on the forewings.
