Wing span:

Identification: The wings are black to dark brown on the upperside with iridescent blue at the base. The forewings each have six white spots on the upper- and underside, of which five form an oblique central band and one is found outside of these. The space between the first and second cells also has a white fringe on the forewings. There is a white spot in the discoidal cell on the underside of the hindwings.

Variation: The amount of iridescent blue at the base of the upperside hindwings varies across specimens.
