Whitened flasher

Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with faint black bands on the underside. The body and base of the wings on the upperside is iridescent blue. The hindwings have a light brown fringe. The underside of the forewings has a white patch that extends upwards from the dorsum.

Variation: The white patch extending upwards from the dorsum on the underside of the forewings varies in intensity and coverage (sometimes extending all the way to the costa) across subspecies and specimens.
