Chiriqui flasher
Wing span:
Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with faint black bands on both upper- and underside. The body and base of the wings on the upperside is iridescent blue, and the hindwings have a light brown fringe. The upperside of the forewings has a light brown dorsum and underside of the hindwings has a yellow margin.
Variation: The yellow margin on the underside of the hindwings may be barely visible or entirely absent in some subspecies. Additionally, there may be a postdiscal white patch on the underside of forewings outside of the discoidal cell and extending upwards from the dorsum in some subspecies.
