Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside and light brown on the underside, with light brown fringe. The forewings have four central transparent spots and one pale yellow spot below these. Females have two small subapical transparent spots on the upperside of the forewings while this feature is not visible on the upperside in males. The underside of the forewings has five subapical spots. The underside of the hindwings has a central black spot and four postdiscal spots.

Variation: There is variation in the number and colour of postdiscal spots on the underside of the hindwings.
