Wing span:

Identification: The wings are dark brown on the upperside with a central oblique purple tint on the forewings and a submarginal (termenal) purple tint on the hindwings. The underside of the wings is alternating dark brown and white stripes, with a central yellow-crowned and white-based black ocellus in the outer postdiscal region. The wings also have an orange submargin on the underside.
